“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens” … and who am I to argue with the one thought to be by most as the wisest man ever to live. Solomon wrote those words more than 3,000 years ago, and they have never meant more to me than now.
I have always believed that for every event or activity in life, there is a divinely appointed time. It suggests a natural order and rhythm to existence, where life is made up of different phases or "seasons," each with its own purpose. The 1st verse of Ecclesiastes, Chapter 3, is often followed by a list of examples, such as times for birth and death, but for me, it reminds me that as an older person, I fit the adage often referred to as “no spring chicken.” While the maxim is not typically meant as a compliment, it does suggest that there are seasons of life that we all experience, and the actions and mindsets that are associated with each.
After God, Federal Millwork has been our lifeline for 55 years. From hired hand to humble owner, God has enabled Kay and me to raise 5 children, blessed us with 10 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. Now it is time to put Federal Millwork to bed as God has provided me with a new assignment: sharing His good news through weekly missives. Thank you for your support and encouragement through the years. It has been our pleasure and privilege to serve you.
I bid you well with this accumulated advice from trusted sources:“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.”Proverbs 16:3, "Whatever you do, work at it with your whole being, as if you were working for the Lord and not for people"Colossians 3:23, and May the Babe of the manger be the Lord of your life!
God bless!
